Hana — Bilingual AI Bar Assistant

Problem

At a Miyazaki hotel café-bar, international guests couldn't navigate Japanese-style cocktails and staff couldn't bridge every language.

Build

I designed, built, and deployed a bilingual (EN/JA) AI assistant: guests scanned a QR code, chatted naturally, and got drink recommendations with visual cards pulled from a live menu database.

Run & status

Ran in production at the hotel café-bar (March–April 2026). No longer deployed at the venue — the working app is live below, try it.

A Traditional Chinese / English jewelry storefront with shopping cart, Instagram-based order flow, and a backend order dashboard — designed end-to-end including brand voice in both languages. Built with Lovable + custom logic.

I'm Brazilian, based in Miyazaki. My path runs from geography and translation into AI quality work — evaluating language models, writing rubrics, catching the small ways meaning breaks between languages. I've lived in Brazil, Japan, and Taiwan, and worked across Portuguese, English, Japanese, Spanish, and Traditional Chinese. The throughline is simple: I make things work for people across language barriers. That's what took me from translation desks to LLM evaluation, and from evaluation to designing and shipping Hana — a bilingual assistant that ran in a real bar every night during its production window. I care about the customer on the floor, the rubric on the page, and the system that connects them.
